Wintery Bohemian Romance: Part 2

As promised, here is the next set of photos from yesterdays Wintery Bohemian Romance shoot! I love the natural, subdued colors of my surroundings and my outfit with the bright pop of color from my scarf, lips, and tights. These were so fun to shoot! Again, props to Randy Angle for the awesome photos!

Inspiration: Romantic Bohemian

Today a good friend took some marvelous, fashiony photos of me out on his gorgeous property. He took something like 244 pictures in 30ish degree weather for 2.5 hours!!! We were troopers though, despite nearly freezing to death and I'd have to say we had a really fun time.

I will post some pictures as soon as they are ready, but for now I will give you a little idea of what our inspiration was. The backdrop was a snow grazed field, as well as a patch of trees near the forest (think Twilght). I went for a romantic, bohemian feel with my styling. Lots of fur, vintagy jewelry, lace, silk scarves, sweet hair accessories, tough boots. I kept my make-up very simple, except for a strong brow and red lip. My hair was down, in soft curls. One of my favorite things was a peace sign covered in daisies that we used as a prop, it added such a poppy touch to the photos.

Here's a few pictures that inspired me...

Love this look

Although Sarah Jessica Parker got a ton of flack on Fashion Police last week for this look, I must say I completely and utterly adore it! She rocks fashion like no other, and I think she radiated at the amFAR Gala in this pink Oscar de la Renta gown paired with a Theyskens' Theory leather jacket. She's always taking risks, and that's exactly what fashion is all about! In my eyes she is one of the most stylish actresses of all times and I envy her way of dressing! Keep rocking fashion SJP!

Oscar Wild

The stars did not dissapoint at yesterday Oscars! I really felt like so many are going to be on various peoples Best Dressed lists because sooooooo many brought there A-Game! My faves would have to be Michelle Williams (love her), Gweneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie, Roonie Mara, Stacy Keibler and Emma Stone.

Michelle Williams in a burnt orange Louis Vuitton number. This concoction took over 300 hundred hours to make in a French Autilier. Love the contrasting hot pink clutch! Her look was sweet, fun & fashiony. Major kudos!!!

Gweneth Paltrow looking beyond elegant in Tom Ford. I can't get over this cape, it is amazingly chic and so different.

Angelina Jolie is the true definition of a movie star. She is rocking Versace and that's it. No opulent jewels or fussy clutches, but she's Angelina. She can get away with anything, or nothing!

Rooney Mara also wore the color of the night, white, in this Givenchy stunner. I love the detailing on the breast (similar to Chalieze Theron 2010 Oscars dress)and the drama of the skirt. Her bangs, red lips and strong brow helped add her own touch of "coolness" to the look. She too wore no jewels.

Stacy Keibler looked gorgeous in this liquidy gold Marchesa number, kind of like an Oscar statue herself. She kept everything else very simple. Who wouldn't look great with arm candy like George though?

I loved Emma Stone in this berry red Giambattista Valli gown. She epitomized old Hollywood glamour with that oversized bow at the neck line and that ornate clutch. I really love her "barely there" make-up.

Trends of the night would have to be the color white, natural make-up, easy hair, simplistic glamour, rectangular statement clutches, minimal jewelry and berry tones. What a fun direction for the red carpet to be moving in, and what a successfull night for some of our favorite fashionistas of film! Well done ladies!

Happy Oscars!

Happy Oscars Sunday everybody! Let 's be honest, for most fashionistas the most exciting part about this day is seeing what everybody will be wearing on the red carpet! The ladies I'm looking forward to seeing the most are Michelle Williams, Rooney Mara, Emma Stone & Charlieze Theron who each have been shutting it down on the red carpet this season, and always!

And then there is gorgeous George, need I say more?

Woodsy Romance

Today I went for a look that was comfy and romantic, with just a bit of toughness! I love pieces that can be transformed by sticking another layer underneath, a'la this 4 Love & Liberty tunic with a tan dress underneath. The cutouts just liven up that way, making things a bit more interesting! For a woodsy touch, I paired my booties with a chunky, cable-knit sock.

Body-Con: The Rockstar Effect

Today was one of those days where I just felt like a Rockstar because I loved my outfit (and what it was doing for me) soooo much! I walked a little fiercer, held my head up a bit higher and worked it. Love those days!!!  There's just something about body conscious clothing that makes me happy to be curvy, and gives me a boost of confidence as soon as I put them on. The colorful, stripey Vertigo skirt; Jigsaw is a brand new addition to my wardrobe and I'm already super excited for all of the outfit ideas it's giving me!

I traveled the world in seven days...

Todays outfit was inspired by Johnny Was Collections Fall 2011 Lookbook: I traveled the world in seven days... (love that!) Everything about the Johnny Was look is inspiring to me. The mix of colors, textures, layers, the natural fabrics... they do bohemian chic at its finest :)

Here's how my outfit came out:
