Skedaddle to Seattle

There is nothing I enjoy more then a Summertime escape. I've been lucky to have many this Summer.
I wore this heading over to Seattle and felt both comfy and cute, which is what I always aim for while traveling.
Comfy fabrics like chambray, cotten and linen are a must. I also always make sure to have a scarf, big sunglasses and some sort of jacket in case it gets chilly!

Secret Garden

Spent the morning with a friend sipping on coffee and munching on pastries from The Rockwood Bakery on a park bench at Manito Park recently.
I went for vintage romance with this outfit and my bedroom jacket was the perfect thing to help evoke that feel.

fab five

Happy Friday everybody! I've been sick this week, but none-the-less have had a fabulous time! I'm so excited for my busy weekend to kick off! Good friends, a musical, the wedding of the Summer, work, a road trip over to the coast... It should turn out to be pretty fabulous!

Pantie Bouquet I made this for my friends Bachelorette party! Once I got the hang of working with the panties, it was really easy to make (and so cute!).

Words to live by...

Lori, you were right about this place. Pasta Freska is a must try if you're in the Seattle area! Best Italian I've had, EVER!
The charming Italian chef brings you serving after serving of decadent food, (chicken marsala, eggplant parmesan, lasagna, seafood) with out you ever having to worry about ordering. He just has this innate sense of knowing what you will like. Ah-mazing!

Love the elegance these young women have while also looking so relaxed.  This is one of Anna Wintour's favorite Vogue images. To see more of her faves, click here.

I loved this movie not only for the romance, but for the fashion. I always am finding new, old ways to style my clothes from them.

Hope you all have a fab weekend as well!

Broad Comedy

"Fierce, female, fabulous and funny!" -Eve Esler, The Vagina Monologues

I know where I'll be tomorrow night, do you?

Broad Comedy, a traveling satirical musical is making its way to downtown Spokane tomorrow night at The Bing Crosby Theater. Show starts at 8pm, but get there early and enjoy a drink at The Bing's new bar!

It's sounding like it's gonna be a fabulously, raunchy show! Perfect for the 20-something crowd, like myself :)

Can't wait!

In The Name of Fashion

Dearest Fashionistas,

Wow! I can hardly believe I've been doing Fashionably Yours, Chelsie for over six months now. It's really been a fun, creative experience for me. The next six months I plan on expanding my blog, getting it seen by more people, with hopes of inspiring, exciting and enticing, all in the name of fashion!

Love the gobs of  jewelry paired with my Byron Lars dress (a.k.a my fave dress of all times!) Makes the look very boho!

If nothing else, I'm creating a pretty kick-butt fashion diary that I will be able to reminisce on years from now!

Stay tuned lovelies for changes and tweaks to my blog that I think you all will enjoy!

saved by the bell

I have a feeling these vintage coolots would have left the ever so fashionable Lisa Turtle in envy...

After rockin' them for a day I must say coolots are the perfect way to stay cool (both meanings of the word) on a hot Summer day.
I was so excited when these coolots were pointed out to me a couple of weeks ago at Fringe & Fray.
It was even more exciting when they actually fit!!

fab five

I'm going to do today's fab five a little differently then normal...
I'm going to share with you the five fab things I found on my latest adventures!!!
Orange red, crushed velvet chair. So comfy & cute, reminds me of Betty Boop. Spotted it outside a second hand store while driving down the highway and knew I had to have it!

Snake print maxi dress with cut outs and slits up both legs. Found it in an antique shop called A Bit of Europe in John Day, OR. The owner of the shop wore this in the 60's in London!

My favorite find from A Bit of Europe. The photo doesn't do it justice. It's a rhinestoned compact from the 30's. When you open it up it has the sweetest little powder pad and actual powder in it, plus it clips on a lapel!

I've been looking for a vintage straw bag all Summer and finally found one at a great little antique shop down by Pikes Place in Seattle! I'm gonna tote this around the rest of Summer so I can be tourist chic!

Tin bowl made in Belgium. My new catch-all, also found at A Bit of Europe!

Thanks for stopping by.
 Have a fab weekend!

A customer told me I reminded her of copacabana... outfit success!

Urban Pocahontas

I absolutely love these colors together.
There's just something about this earthy, tobacco color paired with turquoise to me...
My accessories were a mix of tough girl & boho glam,
I felt like Urban Pocahontas taking on the city night!

I'm back!

Hey fashionistas,

Miss me? I’ve been in Oregon this past week visiting my grandparents with my Mom and brother. We had the loveliest time!
I spent my week: relaxing in the sun,
eating ( a lot),
rooting on Team USA in the Olympics,
 celebrating my Mommy’s birthday,
antiquing
& reading!
It was a nice break away from the world of the internet...I haven't been on fb for a week (crazy, right?)! Please note: I am still alive!
(ahhhhh, the gorgeous sunset on our drive to OR. It was so breathtaking, I probably took about 60 pictures!)

I have a lot to share with you, as well as a ton of backed up outfit posts... soooo stay tuned!

fab 5

Take a quick look at what's inspiring me, making me happy & what I'm loving this week!
Hope you all have a fantabulous weekend, I know I'm gonna ;)
Interesting article in this months Harpers Bazaar on Juicy Couture Founders Gela & Pam.  Check it out here!
(Photo: Paul Wetherell)
Going to Lori's lake cabin had to be the highlight of my week! We jet skied, went tubing, paddle boated and cruised all around Lake Coeur d' Alene. It was a blast!
Absolutely the best little escape from real life I've had in a while.

I love anything that has to do with Paris so when I saw this Eiffel Tower at Ross I snatched it up and spray painted it gold!
Can't get enough of color blocking this Summer. It's so fun to do with bright, fresh colors like these.
Casper Fry in the Perry District is quickly becoming one of my new favorite eateries! This was their sweet and spicy shrimp (ah-mazing)!
I'd also recommend the:
fried chicken (drizzled in honey),
loaded mac-n-cheese
peanut butter banana caramel pie served in a mason jar with a side of vanilla ice cream
Soooo worth checking out for yourself!

vintage lovelies

I love vintage not only for it's retro appeal, but for the stories each piece has... You can only imagine who wore your treasures and what they were doing and feeling when they were wearing them!

Teddi sheer floral blouse. The colors in this floral print make me very happy, so girly!

Vintage skirt, not sure who makes it. I thought there was no chance on getting this to zip, but since it did I figured it was meant to be!

City Girl blouse. I fell in love with its kitschy print, very 1970's disco!

Picked up these lovely vintage pieces the other afternoon at Fringe & Fray, a funky little consignment/vintage shop after coffee with a friend at Atticus (also highly recommended)!

I'm so excited for my new finds, I've already worn two of them :)
What do you think?
