fab five

Emma Stone looking stylish in this Ellie Saab pantsuit for The Amazing Spider-Man premiere! Love the pop of color! This makes me even more excited to rock my jumpsuit next weekend for my birthday!

This is actually part of my bra top from my mermaid costume last Halloween! I spent so long hand beading it I figured I might as well show it off as art so I stuck it in a shadow box! :)

Anthony Hall! I've been hooked on his music this last week. He sings the way I dream of being sang to (it's a girl thing). Favorite track: Keep it Simple! Check him out here!
Fun Fashion pic from last Saturday night! I love when outfits evolve when your playing around with it, not taking fashion too seriously. Usually makes for the most fun outfits!
The pb&j frappe has got to be my favorite treat from Thomas Hammer! It's frozen decadence!

Thanks for checking out my Fab 5! Have a Fab weekend!

caftan party

Can't wait to wear this glitzy caftan over my swimsuit in the heat of Summer, but until then I'm going to rock it like this... over a little dress (or skirt, or short shorts)!

You know I love myself a jazzy cocktail ring. This stunner is a Charlene K druzy ring and it was an early birthday present to myself ;)

Happy First Day of Summer!

playing around

I truly have so much fun playing around with fashion! Taking things you already have and re-working them into something new and fun is the best part to me.

Like this outfit for instance... It's a cocktail dress I wore for my 21st Birthday last year, but. I threw an embroidered strapless top and belt over it and instantly it's a whole new dress! I've had each of these pieces for a while, but yesterday I was inspired by them differently!

fab five

Kirsten Stewart in July's Vanity Fair. I love seeing her so fashiony! The cat eye make-up and Givenchy Haute Couture earrings are totally working in her favor!

Ally & I have been busily working on Jigsaw's new blog "Dress Me in Jigsaw" where we're giving our Jigsaw girly's a bit of fashion inspiration with all the latest merchandise, like these fabulous Eva Franco dresses (I die!). Check out the blog here!!!

Spotted this "love seat" in Brownes Addition the other day. Totally put a smile on my face :)

Such a pretty fashion pic! I love that this photo was taken 60 years ago for Vogue, but still feels just as relevant today! I can't wait for Summer, retro swimsuits and sun!

Yummiest popcorn ever (Thank you Kyle)!!! Stove popped popcorn with truffle oil, butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, white chili pepper, smokey cayenne, salt and pepper! Try it and you're taste buds will be forever grateful :)

Hope you enjoyed my fab 5 list!

Johnny Was... a good man

Wore this Johnny Was tunic today over a tighter fitting dress which is my favorite way to rock a tunic, sans leggings... Gives you a dress body in a pinch!
I love these colors, they are so warm and earthy. My boss says these are "quintessential Chelsie colors" :)

Fab Five

Went on an evening stroll through the park with a friend the other night and of course it turned into a photo-op!

I die for feathers, and lace and chartreuse!!!  Basically I die for this entire outfit Lilly Colin's wore in The Los Angeles Times Magazine! Fabulous, right?
(Photo: Hillary Walsh)

Taught my friend Ian a couple things in the kitchen Wednesday night... we made the most delicious Chicken Alfredo and decadent Molten Chocolate Cakes. Click here for my cake recipe :)

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, designers of THE ROW, took home The CFDA Award for Womenswear Designers of the Year! They've been making a huge mark on the fashion industry since they established the line in 2007!

like a mannequin

(dress: Butter by Nadia, shoes: Rampage, earrings: Grayling, cuffs: Asos)

I love the new length of hem lines we are starting to see, it's so 1940's! This Butter dress is super comfortable, I didn't want to take it off.

topped with a bow

It might have been a rainy day in the Northwest, but I didn't let that stop me from dressing springy, it is June after all!
If you know me well enough then you know my love for bows... I've wanted to do one with my hair since I'd seen it done on Project Runway years ago, but my hair was always too short. My friend Ally had her hair done like this recently and it re-sparked my fascination with this 'do'. So happy my hair is finally long enough to do it!

So easy to do this hair bow yourself:
1 Pull your hair into a high pony with a small elastic
2 Wrap elastic with hair to hide it, pin
3 Separate a small portion of hair in the front
4 Then part the rest of your hair into two portions
5 Take one portion of hair, curve it into a "bow loop" and pin in the back
6 Repeat on other side (you may need to tease hair for more body)
7 You may need to pin "bow loops" from the front also to keep them in place
8 Bring middle portion of hair back and weave under the loop twice to get the "bow knot"
9 Pin "bow knot" in place
10 Hairspray to your hearts content & you're good to go!

**I think this would be really cute off centered, think Hello Kitty, or a smaller version like a headband...
